Matt was happy that this man was retaliating at anything that was being said by him. It was one point towards Kane for not putting up some kind of difficulty. He wasn’t set on the man though. Yes, first impressions were the most important but they weren’t anything without backing it up with some kind of action and a follow through relationship. ”It can be quite a change from living alone but I can tell you first hand once you live with your family it’s hard to live alone afterwards.” Matt grabbed for his bottle again and leaned back to his comfortable position. It seemed that the more comfortable Matt looked the more the man eased up. It also allowed the man to more comfortable with opening up and to Matt that was a good thing.
”Fitting in shouldn’t be too hard. Everyone is very welcoming and quite helpful. The first you’ll see for that is Lina. She’s very energetic and welcoming… and a bit flirtatious,” Matt laughed when he said she was flirtatious. That was an understatement to say the least but there was no reason to freak the guy out with the fact that Lina just might rape him. ”She’ll also be the first to offer to be roommates too,” and there was another laugh. His eyes watching him as the man shifted his weight and made himself a bit more comfortable or so it seemed. ”But don’t be too alarmed. If she gets to be too overwhelming just send her to me and I’ll take care of it. She’s really good company though aside from the flirting.” Matt crossed his leg up, his ankle resting on his knee as he placed a hand on his thigh. It was a comfortable gesture. ”Just be yourself and you should be fine.”
”As for help, you are more than welcome to lend a hand. I’m currently speaking with a few different construction companies on how quick they can remodel a house at a reasonable price.” He shrugged lightly and took another drink from his bottle. It was kind of getting a bit low but that was okay. Jack was good about making sure your drink never saw the bottom before your refill came. Speaking of which – there was Jack with two fresh new beers. ”I’m sure we could use around the house. I know when I first came into town I did some plumbing work for the house but it’s always an ongoing project keeping the house in tip top shop and running. Another male around the house that knows how to fix things would be great.” The man seemed nice enough and willing to do what was needed to be a part of the family. It was a good quality to have to be honest.
”What has been your work experience if you wouldn’t mind me asking?” He was curious as to what the man did before this. ”And any family nearby? I don’t recall catching that or not when you gave your turning story. You spoke of your mamma smacking ya for not looking a man in his eyes when speaking…”
